Ragged Blade's fall production will be "Grave Undertakings," a series of "comedy-horror" short plays set in a cemetery. We have three already and are seeking our final entry via a contest.
Here's what we're looking for...
A play about 15-20 minutes long.
Three to five characters
We have a lot of strong female roles in our other plays, so strong male roles would be helpful.
Set it in a cemetery, because that's our set.
More "comedy" than "horror..." We want the audience to laugh more than scream.
Keep it "PG"
Make sure there's a way to contact you on the script.
Contest is open to anyone, anywhere, any age
No entry fee required
Deadline for receipt of script is August 4.
You can send a play to ChawLyder@aol,com or you can mail a play to Ragged Blade, PO Box 221012, St Louis MO 63122
The winner gets a full production as part of the run of the show (six performances) plus a small royalty. Production dates are the weekends before and after Halloween
Here's what we have so far, if it'll help jog anyone's creative juices.
Halloween Haul, by John Cruncleton, Tulsa, OK. Bullies with a bizarre nervous twitch steal candy from some trick or treaters, but perhaps should think twice about eating it.
Charming, by Matt Burlingame, Sacramento, CA, The women of the Charmed TV series use their magic to resurrect Shannon Dougherty's career, with horrific results.
Kiss of Death, by Jerry Rabushka (that would be me); A high school date in a cemetery awakens the girl's dead relatives, who are ready to parrrrrrrr-TY!
Thanks, and pass it on!
