NY ARTISTS UNLIMITED PRESENTS: THE NIGHT OF SCARY BAD PLAYS
DEADLINE: AUGUST 15, 2009

We had such a great response to the "Night of Bad Plays," and so many people DEMANDED a repeat performance, that we have decided to produce "THE NIGHT OF SCARY BAD PLAYS." This will be one night only at New York Theatre Workshop, in the 3rd floor studio (84 East 3rd St. in Manhattan), on October 29th, 2009. YES, it's partly a Halloween related event.

Guidelines:

1. The shorter the better. Please, no more than 10 minutes.
2. What scares you? About theater? Life? The World?
3. What do you find scary?
4. Can scary be funny AND scary?
5. Funny Haunted House plays encouraged, as are funny/scary plays with bad movement in them. Halloween themed = great.
6. Bad Scary Plays that are operas or musicals = great.
7. Bad Scary Plays about sex = great.
8. AND, it should make you laugh.

Don't worry about wacky stage directions, or any unusual requirements. We will make everything work, one way or another.

We can offer no stipend. You don't have to be in attendance, although we'd love to have you there for the festivities. And there will be beer. And candy. And Halloween decorations. And probably another bad dance (if you were there last time, you saw the fantastically bad dance to Michael Jackson's I'M BAD). You can feel free to use a pseudonym if you wish.

Casting is TBA, and will be determined by us, the producers of the festival. We had a great group last time, and hope many of them will be available again!

Why are we doing this? For Fun. Also, we are into down and dirty, vaudevillian hilarity. It seems timely, don't you think?

Deadline for submissions: August 15th

This is part of New York Theatre Workshop's Usual Suspect/Suspect Studio program, so not a co-production, but possible due to their generosity.
