Type of Work
one-act plays, ten-minute plays
Eligibility Requirements
Our annual one-acts festival is open to all writers of all ages. We encourage new writers and give them the opportunity for their work to be produced.
Subject Restrictions
There are no subject restrictions, but PLEASE submit scripts of 20 minutes or less. Our festival generally includes up to 8 short plays in succession in an evening. While "Adult" situations or language will NOT disqualify a script, "all-age appropriate" is preferred.
Unproduced
Previous workshop or reading okay
Notification
January 12, 2010 by email ONLY
No Fee
Deadline: 12/01/2009
Number of Copies: 1
Please Submit: Full script, typed and securely bound; Brief synopsis of play; Character breakdown and set requirements; Short bio; Don't include SASE, scripts will NOT be returned
Please submit no more than two (2) scripts for consideration. Please make submissions, whenever possible, VIA EMAIL (VillagePlayers@ppvp.org). This will reduce shipping costs for the playwright, storage and printing burdens for the Village Players, and certainly kill fewer trees. We WILL still accept hard copy scripts with the same noted requirements, but would much prefer electronic submissions. Please send in Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx) or Adobe PDF format.
The Paw Paw Village Players has been entertaining the community as well as ourselves here in Southwest Michigan for 40+ years. Our emphasis is on community, fun and family. We've been presenting original short plays in our One Acts Festival for going into our thirteenth year now and it continues to be one of our most popular productions every season. We welcome playwrights whose scripts are selected for production to attend our festival and view our production of their work. While we are unable to offer accommodations or travel compensation, we will GLADLY provide complimentary seats for a playwright and one guest for one of our evening festival performances.
